Speaking to Prime Minister Netanyahu today (Sunday), German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that an end to the war in Gaza would be a decisive step toward a regional de-escalation," according to DW.

Scholz reportedly also expressed his concerns about a widening war in the region and condemned threats against Israel from Iran and its proxy armies, especially Hezbollah.

The German Chancellor also reportedly said that Israel had achieved many of its goals in the Gaza Strip, though Israel has repeatedly stressed its aim is the destruction of Hamas' military and governmental capabilities, a goal which has not yet been fully achieved.
