Israeli leaders cheer Trump’s plan for Gaza
From Bezalel Smotrich to Amir Ohana, political figures rally behind Trump’s remarks with enthusiastic support.

The political establishment welcomed the US president's remarks last night in the Oval Office during his meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu.
Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, quoting the Bible said: "Then they will say to the nations, 'The Lord has done more with them, the Lord has done more with us, we have rejoiced,' and even better and better (reference to a big Israeli musical hit). Thank you, President Trump." Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana: "Good morning Israel, this is the dawn of a new day."
Shas leader Aryeh Deri had this to say: "Dear President Donald Trump, You are acting as God's messenger for the Jewish people, and are achieving great success due to your unwavering support of Israel against all its enemies. I bless you to continue, together with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, to lead historic moves that will bring change to the Middle East and strengthen the peace and security of the people of Israel. "And all the peoples of the earth shall see that you are called by the name of the LORD, and they shall be afraid of you" (Deuteronomy 28)."
Chairman of Otzma Yehudit, MK Itamar Ben-Gvir exclaimed: "President Trump is saying very important things: The only solution for Gaza is to encourage the immigration of Gazans. When I said it time and time again during the war that this was the solution for Gaza, I was ridiculed. It is now clear: This is the only solution to the Gaza problem – this is the strategy for the "day after." I call on the Prime Minister to announce the adoption of the plan as soon as possible and to begin immediate practical progress."
MK Avigdor Lieberman stated: "I thank President Trump for his absolute commitment to Israel's security, to the release of all the hostages and to finding a just solution in the Gaza Strip that will pass through the Sinai Peninsula and in cooperation with Egypt, to eradicate the Hamas regime, as well as for his firm stance in the face of Iranian threats."
State Camp party leader Benny Ganz said: "President Trump's statement last night is further proof of the deep alliance between the US and Israel. President Trump has shown, and not for the first time, that he is a true friend of Israel and will continue to stand by its side on issues important to securing its security. In his remarks, he presented creative, original, and interesting thinking that should be examined alongside achieving the war's objectives and giving priority to returning all the hostages."
