According to a report from the Wall Street Journal, Israel has devised a comprehensive strategy designed to increase pressure on Hamas, with the first step already implemented last week. This involved halting humanitarian aid to Gaza, a move aimed at signaling Israel's readiness to escalate its actions if necessary.

Further steps in the plan include cutting off essential utilities like electricity and water to Gaza, a measure discussed earlier this week at a Cabinet meeting with Finance Minister Betzalel Smotrich. These actions are intended to weaken Hamas's infrastructure and force the group into submission. If these measures fail to yield the desired results, Israel may resort to airstrikes and tactical raids aimed at key Hamas targets within the Strip, according to a security analyst briefed on the details of the plan.

The plan also includes the possibility of evacuating the hundreds of thousands of Palestinians who had returned to northern Gaza during the ceasefire. The next phase of military action could see Israel ramp up its involvement in the region, potentially employing more aggressive tactics than in earlier stages of the conflict.

Some Israeli security experts argue that the country is now in a stronger position to re-enter Gaza, citing replenished ammunition stockpiles and the lifting of restrictions that were previously imposed by the Biden administration. Furthermore, with less pressure on its northern border, Israel is no longer required to allocate significant resources there to guard against potential threats from Hezbollah.

Reports suggest that Israel could spend the next two months preparing its forces for a renewed and potentially more intense operation in Gaza. With the situation remaining highly volatile, many in Israel believe that another entry into the Gaza Strip is inevitable.
