Anonymous vandals spraypainted swastikas on Magen David Adom emergency vehicles early this morning (Sunday), after they arrived to provide emergency treatment to a patient living in Jerusalem's Meah She'arim neighborhood.
Magen David Adom issued the following statement in response:
Tonight, around 03:00, ambulance crews and an intensive care mobile unit of Magen David Adom (MDA) were dispatched to treat a patient in the Mea Shearim neighborhood in Jerusalem. While the paramedics and medics entered the patient's apartment to provide medical treatment, unknown individuals vandalized the MDA ambulances and drew swastikas on Israeli flags attached to the sides of the vehicles.
When the crews returned to their vehicles, they were shocked to discover these serious acts and immediately reported it to Jerusalem Police, filing an official complaint.
MDA CEO, Eli Bin: "This is a serious and shocking incident that has no place in our society. MDA teams are in the field to save lives, regardless of religion, race, or nationality, and they should carry out their mission without fear of violence or property damage. We trust that law enforcement authorities will work to bring those responsible for this despicable act to justice."
