Herzog invites factions for consultations
President's Residence director-general Eyal Shviki sends formal letters to all Knesset factions ahead of Wednesday's consultations: The President expects representatives to arrive with an open mind, ready to listen and share ideas, and to prevent another election
"I reached out today to the heads of all factions elected to the Knesset, with an invitation to arrive for consultations with the President, ahead of assigning the task of forming the government," Shviki said. "As the President stated today, the President's Residence is wide open to all factions, and the President expects their representatives to arrive at the consultations with an open mind, ready to listen and share ideas, and to prevent another election."
"We are preparing to receive faction representatives at the President's Residence starting Wednesday, and to conduct the consultation process in a stately, respectful and businesslike manner," he added. "I hope and believe that with responsibility and mutual respect we will complete the democratic process in a proper way, all for the good and prosperity of the State of Israel."

Herzog has instructed that his meetings with the various factions be broadcast live on different media platforms, in order to promote transparency with Israeli citizens. As in every round of consultations, a media center will be set up at the President's Residence, and faction heads who wish to deliver a formal statement to the press will do so immediately after their meeting with the President.
