Coalition talks

Yair: Left-haredi-Arab govt "final nail"

PM's son responds to reports of opposition contacts with haredi parties, warns coalition would lead to Islamic autonomy in Negev and Galilee

Yair Netanyahu

Yair Netanyahu, son of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, posted a sharp response today (Sunday) on his X account to reports of coordination attempts and coalition speculation between the opposition bloc led by Gadi Eisenkot, the haredi parties, and the Arab factions.

"A left-haredi-Arab government will be the final nail," Netanyahu warned. According to him, such a scenario would lead to severe geopolitical and security consequences within the Green Line: "An Arab Islamic autonomy will be established in the Negev and Galilee, which will be annexed to the Palestinian state in Judea and Samaria that they will establish."

The battle for the narrative and pressure on the haredi factions

Yair Netanyahu's sharp warning joins a series of aggressive messages issued over the past day from the Prime Minister's circle and the Likud leadership toward the haredi coalition partners. As reported, a senior Likud source protested the reports of contacts between the haredim and the Eisenkot bloc, and warned that if United Torah Judaism and Shas do not define themselves as an inseparable part of the right-wing bloc, Netanyahu may abandon them in favor of a broad Zionist unity government.

Netanyahu's statement is intended to increase public and political pressure on the haredi factions and to illustrate the ideological price involved in any attempt to reach understandings with the opposition bloc and the Arab factions.
