Noble Lies Are Still Lies
Tom Fletcher says lie about 14,000 children dying in 48 hours simply "imprecise"
The UN humanitarian chief said that he exaggerated and lied about the plight of the Palestinians to get aid in.

UN Humanitarian Chief Tom Fletcher, after being caught in a lie in his claim that 14,000 children were set to starve to death in 48 hours if aid were not sent in immediately, claimed that he should have been more "precise."
Fletcher, who also falsely claimed that there were 10,000 trucks ready to go and waiting for Israel to let them in - when COGAT showed this was false and that the UN hadn't even picked up the trucks already on the Gaza side - he once again claimed innocence, saying he was "imprecise" out of a desperation to get aid in.
Multiple news outlets ran with Fletcher's claim of 14,000 Palestinian children about to starve to death in two days, even after the UN itself admitted that statistic said that this number applied to 14,000 children "at risk" of serious malnutrition over the next year, if current levels of aid were maintained - even as Israel's independent aid effort has massively increased the food supply in the Gaza Strip.
