This morning (Sunday), an exhibition of paintings by survivors of captivity was launched at Ben Gurion Airport. As part of the project, the survivors participated in unique workshops in which they expressed their feelings and what they went through during their captivity. During the workshops, which were held in preparation for Independence Day, the survivors expressed the personal meaning they give to the concept of "independence."

The exhibition features paintings by survivors of captivity Raz Ben Ami, Meirav Tal, Ilana Gritsewsky, Yarden Bibas, Karina Aryev, Naama Levy, Liri Albag, Keren Munder, Ohad Munder Zachary, Margalit Mozes and Aviva Sigal.

The exhibition will be presented next week at Ben Gurion Airport, so that tens of thousands of passengers will be able to view it and remember the urgency and importance of the issue of the return of the hostages. Later, the paintings will also be exhibited in New York, as part of the Israeli Independence Day events.

Captivity survivor Yarden Bibas wrote about his work: "Butterflies symbolize for me, first of all, sweet Ariel, and together with him, my beloved Shiri and Kfir. Freedom and love. Butterflies also symbolize freedom, air, sunlight. They symbolize independence. For me, freedom was also expressed in the ability to create again, to work with my hands as I did before everything happened."

"Butterflies appear in nature on hot days, days of hiking and family gatherings. Through them I send my love to Shiri, Ariel and Kfir. And through them I also demand freedom for all the hostages who are still in captivity. There is no independence without the hostages at home, on Memorial Day there must be no family without a grave to go to."
