Reports are emerging of a significant airstrike in northwestern Syria's Idlib province, specifically targeting the town of Kafr Takharim (also spelled Kafr Takhim) in the countryside.

Local sources and Syrian opposition media describe a massive explosion at a building or site in the area, with videos and images showing smoke plumes, debris, and emergency responders on the scene. Reports indicate that a Syrian regime arms depot was targeted.

There are reports of multiple casualties, including dead and wounded, though exact numbers aren't confirmed yet.

The strike is widely attributed to U.S. or international coalition aircraft, with some accounts speculating it targeted a high-ranking Al Qaeda member or affiliated group, given the apparent use of a powerful munition.

Idlib remains a stronghold for jihadist groups like Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (formerly linked to Al Qaeda), and U.S. forces have conducted occasional strikes there against terrorist targets in the past.

However, as of now, there's no official confirmation from U.S. authorities or CENTCOM regarding involvement.
