Attempted Elimination In Lod

The Israel Police continues to try to fight crime in the Arab sector and after last night, 7 different people were murdered, in 2 shooting incidents in Haifa and in Basmat Tivon, this morning (Thursday) the police managed to prevent another assassination, and this time, in Lod.

Lod police officers and police saboteurs in the Central District, uncovered and neutralized a powerful explosive device that was attached to a private car belonging to a resident of the city. Israel Police Bomb Disposal Unit neutralized the explosive device along with conducting scans to rule out any further danger to the public, and in the end, all the findings were transferred to the Israel Police forensic laboratories for further evidence extraction.

District commander: "We prevented another disaster"

The commander of the Central District - Superintendent Avi Biton said after neutralizing the charge: "Today we thwarted another disaster in the Arab sector and prevented a criminal attack in the heart of a residential neighborhood in Lod, which could have claimed the lives of innocent people."

He further added: "The discovery of the cargo by a special task force that we operate for a while in the cities of Ramla and Lod, to thwart violent crime on the Arab Street, once again proved the professionalism and determination of the police in maintaining the safety of the general public. Our work in today's serious incident will only end when we put our hands on the perpetrators and imprison them behind bars."
