An unusual incident unfolded at the World Nomad Games in Kyrgyzstan when a golden eagle trained for hunting suddenly veered toward a police officer stationed at the event. Video footage circulating online shows the large bird of prey flying directly at the officer, who attempted to evade it before the eagle latched onto him with its talons within moments.

According to reports from Kyrgyzstan, the eagle became caught on the officer's reflective vest, forcing him to grapple with the bird as it clung to his clothing. At one point, he spun around with the eagle still attached until a bird trainer, known locally as a "berkutchi" in the traditional practice, arrived and successfully removed the raptor. The incident occurred at Kyrchyn Gorge, one of the main venues hosting the Nomad Games. The officer reportedly escaped without serious injury.

Traditional hunting competitions featuring birds of prey, including golden eagles, are among the most prominent events at the World Nomad Games. Skilled hunters known as "berkutchi" train these raptors over extended periods, developing their ability to respond to commands and pursue targets. During competitions, hunters and their birds demonstrate skills passed down through generations, part of an effort to preserve the nomadic way of life and cultural heritage of the region's peoples.
