Security footage captures Suzuki Swift launching seven meters into the air, clearing a traffic circle and narrowly missing a monument to Pope John Paul II, days before Elon Musk's SpaceX-powered Roadster demo

Polish Driver's Drunken Crash Sends Car Flying 60 Meters — Just as Musk Unveils Flying Tesla

Security camera footage from Poland shows a private car lifting into the air, sailing over a traffic circle and flying more than 60 meters before crashing near a church.

The video, filmed in the town of Rawin, shows a Suzuki Swift approaching a roundabout at speed. Instead of slowing to turn, the car mounts the raised center island and launches skyward.

The vehicle climbs to a height of roughly seven meters, clears the circle, strikes a tree and narrowly misses a monument to Pope John Paul II before continuing its flight and crashing near the church grounds.

Behind the wheel was a 41-year-old driver who had lost control of the vehicle. According to Polish media reports, the driver was intoxicated, with a blood alcohol level of 2.8 promille. He was injured in the crash and taken to hospital, while emergency crews were called to the scene.

The footage has now taken on a humorous dimension in light of Elon Musk's recent announcement. On October 15, 2026, the Tesla CEO unveiled the next generation of the Roadster, an electric sports car equipped with a thruster system based on rocket technology, developed in partnership with SpaceX.

The comparison to Musk comes against the backdrop of the new Tesla Roadster reveal, presented October 15, 2026, at an event in Texas. The car, whose development had been delayed for years, was shown with a propulsion system based on air thrusters and technology developed in collaboration with the space company SpaceX.

During the demonstration, the car was seen climbing a steep ramp, lifting into the air, rotating and landing back on the ground. It was also shown jumping over a row of other vehicles.

Musk presented the car as part of an ambitious technological vision, claiming it would be able to accelerate from zero to 60 mph in one second. According to him, production is planned to begin in 2028, though the company has not yet released an official price.
