Stabbing Suspect Caught at Airport

A 47-year-old Holon resident was detained moments before boarding an international flight, hours after allegedly stabbing a 17-year-old. Police tracked his escape route to Ben Gurion Airport.

Suspect in Holon Stabbing Arrested at Ben Gurion Airport Before Fleeing Israel

A 47-year-old Holon resident was arrested at Ben Gurion Airport late last night as he attempted to board an international flight, just hours after allegedly stabbing a teenage boy in the central Israeli city. The dramatic arrest came after a rapid police investigation tracked the suspect's movements from the crime scene directly to the airport, where officers intercepted him before he could leave the country.

The incident began when Israel Police's emergency hotline received a report of a 17-year-old boy found bleeding in Holon with penetrating wounds to his upper body. Paramedics who arrived at the scene provided emergency medical treatment before rushing the teenager to Wolfson Medical Center in the city, where he was listed in moderate condition.

While one team of Holon policemen arrived at the scene to collect forensic evidence and examine the area, detectives went to Wolfson Medical Center to interview the victim and gather initial testimony that could help identify the attacker and establish a motive for the assault.

As the investigation progressed, police received critical intelligence indicating that the suspect had realized authorities were pursuing him. He had fled directly to Ben Gurion Airport with the apparent intention of purchasing a ticket, passing through passport control, and escaping Israeli jurisdiction.

Holon police coordinated urgently with officers from the Ben Gurion Airport district. Airport security personnel deployed throughout the terminal, located the suspect in the departure area, and detained him before he could board his flight.

Following his arrest at the airport, the suspect was transferred under guard to Holon police station for questioning and was subsequently remanded in custody. This morning, police brought him before a court and requested an extension of his detention to continue investigating the circumstances of the attack.
