Attorney arrested

The Central District Prosecutor's Office filed an indictment Monday in the Lod District Court against an Israeli attorney on charges of contact with a foreign agent and obstruction of justice.

The court granted a request by security officials and permitted publication of only the following details: the attorney was arrested for questioning approximately two and a half weeks ago by the Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) and Israel Police on suspicion of security offenses.

Findings from the investigation indicate that the attorney maintained contact with a foreign agent in violation of the law, and that she obstructed investigative proceedings.

Upon completion of the investigation, the Central District Prosecutor's Office (Criminal Division) filed an indictment against the attorney on charges of contact with a foreign agent and obstruction of justice.

Alongside the indictment, prosecutors filed a motion to remand the attorney in custody until the conclusion of legal proceedings against her.
