Vizhnitz chassidim celebrated the engagement of the Vizhnitzer Rebbe's granddaughter this week in a joyous gathering that marked the first major simcha in the community's newly completed hall.
The bride is the daughter of Rabbi Yaakov Mordechai Hager, head of the Vizhnitz community in Elad and son of the Vizhnitzer Rebbe. The groom is the son of Rabbi Pinchas Arnster and grandson of two prominent rabbinic figures: Rabbi Eliezer Arnster, rabbi of the Maor HaChaim neighborhood in Tzfat, and Rabbi Chaim Halperin, rabbi of the Divrei Chaim kehilla in Golders Green, London.
The celebration took place in the newly constructed Heichal Ditza V'Chedva hall within the Beis Vizhnitz building. The hall was donated by Rabbi Nachman Mendel in memory of his late wife.
Throughout the evening, the Rebbe encouraged spirited singing and dancing. He particularly emphasized the niggun "Tamid Shtendik Freilich Zein", "Always Be Joyful", a well-known melody whose words the Rebbe used to allude to the year 5787.
