The Yabia Omer kollel in Bnei Brak opened its winter zman Sunday with a gathering that marked both the approaching yahrtzeit of Rav Ovadia Yosef zt"l and the launch of a new track to train chareidi morei hora'ah.
The kollel, under the leadership of Rav Yigal Cohen, a member of the Chief Rabbinate Council, held the event with the participation of Chief Sephardi Rabbi Rav Yitzchak Yosef shlita, Chacham Nissim Ben Shimon shlita, and Rav Aharon Butbul shlita, son-in-law of Rav Ovadia Yosef zt"l.
The rabbanim spoke on the importance of hasmadah and shekidah in Torah, the need to establish morei hora'ah across Israel, and the continuation of Rav Ovadia's legacy — a life devoted to harbotzas Torah and transmitting halachah to Jewish communities worldwide.
