The Shas faction convened Thursday for the first time since the party's sharp losses in the recent Knesset elections.
MK Aryeh Deri, chairman of Shas, appeared publicly for the first time since the election. He had considered stepping down in recent days but reversed the decision following instructions from the party's Council of Torah Sages.
The meeting, held at Shas headquarters in Yerushalayim, was attended by the party's MKs, mayors and deputy mayors from across the country.
In a statement, Shas said: "The Shas faction convened today (Thursday) at Shas House for a special session chaired by party chairman HaRav Aryeh Deri, with the participation of MKs, city mayors and deputy mayors of the movement from all parts of the country."
"The session opened with the recitation of Mizmor LeTodah, as thanksgiving to Hashem Yisbarach for the election campaign and for the 300,000 voters who expressed their faith in the Shas movement."
