Widow of Fallen IDF Soldier Uriel Cohen Announces Engagement
Huge Mazal Tov to Hannah Cohen, fierce, brave IDF widow of Uriel Cohen HYD, on her recent engagement.

Hannah Cohen, the widow of fallen IDF Master Sergeant (Res.) Uriel Cohen, who was killed in action in the Gaza Strip in December 2023, has announced her engagement.
Sharing a deeply moving photograph of the proposal on her Instagram account, Cohen reflected on her emotional journey from profound grief to finding love once again. The post concluded with a message of gratitude signed, "Hannah and Amit."
"A divine sound connected our souls without words and without logic," Cohen wrote in the emotional post. "In this very house, they knocked on the door and brought the bitter news [of Uriel's death]. And in this very house, I knew, even if sometimes I couldn’t believe it, that I would once again hear the voice of joy and gladness, the voice of true love."
She beautifully described her new relationship not as a replacement for her late husband, but as an expansion of her heart. "It is a love that holds another love at its core, both of them coexisting together in a miraculous way," she wrote. "We walked together past the walls in the ruins of Jerusalem, and there, between the ancient stones, he proposed. Everything belongs to Him, and everything comes from Him, in simplicity, in wholeness, and with immense gratitude."

The late Master Sergeant (Res.) Uriel Cohen served as a Namer APC commander in the administrative support unit of the Givati Brigade. He fell in battle on December 19, 2023, during intense fighting in Khan Yunis. He was 33 years old at the time of his death and left behind Hannah and their two young daughters.
