The Jewish community in Argentina is in shock following the tragic murder of 28-year-old Magali Yael Levy, a member of the Buenos Aires Jewish community.

Levy was killed over the weekend during a violent robbery at her home. Local police and the Argentine prosecutor's office have launched an investigation into the crime.

According to a report in the Argentine media, police who were called to Levy's apartment on Friday (local time) found her lifeless. In addition, the house was upside down and apparently objects were stolen from it.

An initial investigation revealed that a woman who worked as a housekeeper in the family and was recently hired entered the apartment on Friday. A short time later, an unknown person also entered the family home. The two fled the scene together carrying bags, according to local police. Footage from a private security camera shows the man and woman leaving the building with bags.

"The investigation is underway to find those responsible for the crime," sources familiar with the investigation told local media.
