Adriana Fernandez, known in recent years on social media as the "Non-Jewish Nanny," has officially become Jewish after completing a lengthy Orthodox conversion process, which she managed to keep a secret from her enthusiastic (nearly)100,000 fans!

Before celebrating her first Passover Seder as a Jew, she changed her online handle to "Now-Jewish Nanny" and we couldn't be more thrilled to have such an exceptional woman join the tribe.

Here's her story:

Fernandez (27), who grew up in a Christian family in Florida, was first exposed to Judaism while working as a nanny for Orthodox Jewish families in New York. She gained significant popularity on social media, particularly on Instagram and TikTok, where she shares her experiences learning about Jewish life with over 100,000 followers.

She describes how Jewish customs, once foreign to her, became deeply meaningful. In an interview with the New York Post, she said, “I wanted a life like that one day.” She added that the Hamas terror attack on October 7, 2023, strengthened her resolve to convert, driven by a sense of solidarity with the Jewish people. “My first thought was, ‘How am I going to get through this?’” she shared. “But I felt a stronger connection to God.”

To her social media followers, she recently wrote: “I completed my Orthodox conversion to Judaism, under the supervision of the Rabbinical Council of America.” While she shares many personal details, she chose not to elaborate on the lengthy conversion process. On her Instagram, she wrote: “I didn’t want people to encourage me or break me: it was just between me, my rabbis, and the Holy One.”

And what about visiting Israel? “I gave up very special opportunities to travel to Israel because I wanted to experience it as a whole soul! As a Jew! I also didn’t want to experience things I hadn’t yet learned about or truly connected with, so as not to diminish or disrespect them,” she wrote on Instagram.

Now, Fernandez, whose Hebrew name is Adina Shoshana, plans to create music in Hebrew and write children’s books.

She's now an influencer, with impressive collabs with companies like Artscroll and Kosherica.

What strikes me about her is her girl next door vibe, coupled with her genuineness and joeie de vivre. More than all of that, her pure love for Hashem and His Torah shines so bright, you can almost touch it.

Welcome home, beautiful lady. We cannot wait to see the wonderful things you will do.
