MK Gadi Eisenkot, chairman of the Yesh Atid party and former IDF chief of staff, pushed back against President Donald Trump's public support for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, hinting the endorsement may amount to interference in Israel's election.
In an interview moments ago with Channel 12 anchor Karen Marciano, Eisenkot said that despite his respect for the president and the United States, only Israeli citizens will determine who leads the country.
"I have great respect for Trump, but only Israeli citizens will decide," Eisenkot told Marciano.
