Iran Street No Longer Fears the Basij Militia

Cracks in the Armor: Is the Mossad Reporting the Final Collapse of the Basij?

A viral message from the Mossad has signaled a potential breaking point for the Iranian regime, reporting that thousands of security personnel are choosing to lay down their arms rather than fire on their own people.

A significant shift in the internal loyalty of the Iranian security apparatus may be underway, according to intelligence signals that suggest the regime's primary defense forces are beginning to crumble from within. The Mossad recently published a dramatic message in Persian, specifically targeting members of the Iranian police, the Basij militia, and the regular military. The message claimed that the Israeli intelligence agency is receiving widespread reports of thousands of security personnel resigning from their posts or refusing to carry out orders to suppress the civilian population. This development, if fully realized, would mark a terminal phase for the ruling system, which has historically relied on the unwavering brutality of its enforcers to maintain control during times of civil unrest.

The message from the "Mossad in Persian" account praised those who have chosen to stop turning their weapons against their fellow citizens. "You who chose not to turn your weapons against the people, but instead to join the nation, will be remembered in history as the true soldiers of Iran," the statement read. By framing these desertions as acts of national heroism and defense of the state, the message aims to accelerate a trend of defection that has been whispered about since the start of the current protest wave. In previous years, the Basij and the Revolutionary Guard acted as a monolithic wall against dissent, but the combination of extreme economic hardship affecting the soldiers' own families and the threat of international prosecution appears to be creating unprecedented cracks in regime loyalty.

Military analysts note that a collapse of internal loyalty is often the most reliable indicator that a revolutionary movement will succeed. If the rank and file soldiers no longer see a future in protecting the aging clerical leadership, the regime loses its ability to clear the streets or protect government installations. While the top leadership continues to use aggressive rhetoric and conduct missile drills as a show of strength, the reported resignations suggest that the foundation beneath them is rapidly eroding. The Mossad’s public acknowledgement of these defections serves as both a psychological weapon against the Ayatollahs and a lifeline to those within the security forces who are looking for a way out before the inevitable fall of the current government.
