Raquel Lee Bolleau, a former Disney Channel child actress, has filed a negligence lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company in Los Angeles Superior Court. According to the complaint, Bolleau alleges that while filming the 2001 Disney Channel movie "The Poof Point" at age 14, she endured repeated sexual abuse on set, while the Hollywood giant allegedly turned a blind eye and helped conceal the misconduct.
According to Deadline magazine, the lawsuit filed on August 21 describes disturbing conditions on the Disney Channel production set in Utah. Bolleau alleges she was "raped, sexually assaulted, abused, and harassed repeatedly" by a Disney employee approximately 45 years old, identified in court documents under the pseudonym "John Doe."
The complaint asserts that company management and adults present on set were aware in real time of the employee's behavior but chose not to intervene. "Disney's set was not a safe place for children," the filing states.
"The defendant repeatedly failed, facilitated the acts, and concealed the serious abuse. The company did not exercise reasonable care, did not investigate the incidents, and did not remove the perpetrator to ensure the safety of the minors," the lawsuit alleges.
