Her performance comes amidst a charged political climate, as the festival also features artists who have openly expressed anti-Israel views.
The juxtaposition is particularly notable given the presence of groups like the Irish band Kneecap, which has used its platform to project strong anti-Israel messages, including accusations of genocide.
Erez has herself been a target of international boycotts. In a video posted to her Instagram late last year, she shared that multiple festival dates and concerts abroad had been abruptly canceled. She attributed these cancellations not to her personal views but simply to the fact that she is Israeli.
