Angelina Jolie Vists Egyptian Side of Rafah Border Crossing | WATCH

Angelina Jolie should stick to making movies and leave the wars to the grown ups.

Angelina Jolie visited the Egyptian side of the Rafah border crossing (between Egypt and Gaza) on January 2, 2026, as part of a humanitarian mission amid the ongoing Gaza crisis.

The 50-year-old actress and longtime advocate for refugees (she served as a UNHCR special envoy from 2001 to 2022) was accompanied by Egyptian officials, including North Sinai Governor Khaled Megawer, and a U.S. delegation. During the trip, she met with Egyptian Red Crescent workers and aid truck drivers at the crossing, inspected warehouses stocked with humanitarian supplies destined for Gaza, and visited a hospital in the nearby city of Arish to speak with injured Palestinians receiving treatment there.

Her visit comes against the backdrop of a fragile ceasefire in Gaza.

Jolie, who's no stranger to conflict zones (she's visited Palestinian refugees multiple times, including in Jordan in 2003 and more recently in Ukraine), used the spotlight to call for urgent, unrestricted aid access and pledged support for a relief village for orphaned children in the region.

Photos and videos from the trip show her in casual attire, chatting with aid volunteers and reviewing supplies, definitely not your typical Hollywood red carpet vibe.

Here's what Israel advocate and influencer Hen Mazzig had to say about her visit:

How can you hope to understand the Israeli–Palestinian conflict if you’ve never been to Israel, never spoken to an Israeli, and don’t understand its history or its diverse population?
How can you claim to see the truth of this conflict if, like Angelina Jolie, you only visit the Egyptian border of Gaza and not the Israeli one?
How can you hope to resolve the conflict between Gaza and Israel if you are deliberately removing Israel from all discussions?"

Angelina's father Jon Voight has been openly critical of her pro-Palestinian activism, particularly her support for refugees in Gaza and her criticism of Israel's actions. He has not made any new public statements specifically addressing her recent visit to the Rafah crossing, but online commentators have resurfaced his prior remarks in response to it. In interviews and videos from 2023-2024, Voight has repeatedly claimed that Jolie has been "exposed to propaganda" and "influenced by antisemitic people" through her work with the United Nations.

He described her views as stemming from "ignorance" and a lack of understanding of "God's honor" or the "real stakes," insisting that Palestinians "are not refugees" and that her stance amounts to "anti-Israel bashing."
