Oops! F-18 falls overboard on the USS Harry Truman

One US Navy sailor was lightly injured today (Monday) after an F-18 and its tow tractor fell over the USS Harry Truman.

The incident takes place as American air forces have been pummeling Iran-backed Houthi forces in parts of Yemen over the course of the past six weeks, with the aim of destroying the threat they present to international shipping in the Red Sea and American naval forces in the region.

The US claims that rocket, drone and missile launches by the Houthis have declined significantly since the attacks began, and indeed a number of missiles fired at Israel from Yemen reportedly fell apart in flight.

That said, the Houthis have thus far remained defiant in the face of the air attacks, despite heavy casualties and destruction of their war materiel. The US is reportedly working to back a ground offensive which would eliminate the Houthi threat.
