U.S. President Donald Trump sharply criticized Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg today, labeling her a “strange person” in need of “anger management” after her participation in a pro-Hamas flotilla attempting to breach Israel’s naval blockade of Gaza.

“She’s a young angry person. I saw what happened. She’s certainly different. Anger management. She has to go to an anger management class. That’s my primary recommendation for her,” Trump remarked, adding, “Israel has enough problems without dealing with Greta.”

His comments came as Israel’s Foreign Ministry released images of Thunberg and Brazilian activist Thiago Avila disembarking from the Madleen, a vessel intercepted by the Israeli Navy overnight and towed to Ashdod Port. The 12 activists aboard, described as part of a “Selfie Yacht,” are undergoing medical checks before being handed to police for deportation. “The passengers are currently undergoing medical examinations to ensure they are in good health,” the Foreign Ministry stated.

The flotilla’s attempt to deliver symbolic aid, two boxes of supplies, coincided with delicate hostage negotiations between Israel and Hamas, mediated by the U.S., Qatar, and Egypt. Trump emphasized the priority of securing the release of 58 hostages, including 20 believed alive, held by Hamas since its October 7, 2023, attack that killed 1,195 Israelis. “Gaza is in the midst of negotiations between Israel and Hamas.. We want to bring the hostages back,” he said.

Israel’s blockade, enforced to prevent Hamas from smuggling weapons, has been a hot topic for 'influencers' and celebrities to focus on amid their consumption of pro Hamas propaganda. Thunberg’s involvement, alongside her history of anti-Israel rhetoric, including accusing Israel of “genocide,” has fuelled accusations of antisemitism. The stunt, criticized as performative, risks derailing diplomatic efforts, as Hamas’s tunnel network and aid theft continue to exacerbate Gaza’s crisis. Israel remains resolute in neutralizing Hamas’s terrorist infrastructure while facing global scrutiny.
