A Blatant Breach
The IDF strongly condemned the attack, characterizing it as a blatant violation of the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon by the terror organization. Military commanders emphasized that Israeli forces will continue their operational presence in the region and will not tolerate any attempts by terrorists to plan or execute attacks against troops.
This incident marks the first confirmed Hezbollah strike against Israeli forces in southern Lebanon since the implementation of the ceasefire and the phased withdrawal framework. Earlier the same day, Israeli troops fired upon a suspect in the Ras Naqoura (Ras al-Bayda) area after the individual approached the forces in a threatening manner and ignored warning shots.
