Israel Strikes Houthi Targets in Yemen: Military Operation Details

The Israeli military has launched a wave of retaliatory airstrikes on Houthi targets in Yemen. The strikes were a direct response to the Houthis firing multiple missiles and drones at Israel, including one that struck Ramon Airport in southern Israel this past week.

Witnesses reported a large mushroom cloud over one of the targets in the Sana'a and Al-Jawf areas, confirming the intensity of the assault.

The IDF's wave of airstrikes hit at least six Houthi targets across Yemen. In the capital, Sana'a, the strikes hit military camps, a fuel depot, the Houthis’ propaganda office, and the headquarters of the defense and finance ministries.

According to Open Source Intel, IDF jets struck two Bedouin camps suspected of housing missile launchers, along with the Houthi spokesperson’s headquarters and a fuel depot.

Hamevaser reports that the mission involved a round-trip flight of over 2,350 kilometers. More than 10 fighter jets participated in the strike, using over 30 munitions against 15 separate targets. The report also indicated that the operation required multiple mid-air refuelings to complete the long-distance mission.

Apparently, there are casualties as a result of the strike.

Meanwhile, the Houthi-run Al-Masirah news agency stated that Israeli forces also targeted a Houthi government complex in Alazm, located in the Al-Jawf province.

In an official statement, the IDF said:

"Following the assassination of its senior officials, the IDF continues to attack military targets of the Houthi terrorist regime deep in Yemen.

A short while ago, the IDF, using Air Force fighter jets, attacked military targets belonging to the Houthi terrorist regime in the Sana'a and Al-Jawf areas of Yemen. Among the targets attacked were military camps where military operatives of the terrorist regime were identified, the headquarters of the Houthis' military public relations department, and a fuel storage site that was used for the military activity of the terrorist regime.

The attacks were carried out in light of attacks led by the Houthi terrorist regime against the State of Israel, during which unmanned aircraft and surface-to-surface missiles were launched toward the State of Israel.

The military public relations department headquarters of the terrorist regime is responsible for the dissemination of incitement and propaganda in the media, including speeches by leader Abd al-Malik and statements by the spokesperson Yahya Saree. During the war, the headquarters led the propaganda and psychological terror efforts of the terrorist regime.

The military camps that were attacked are used by the Houthi regime to plan and carry out terror plots against IDF forces and the State of Israel. Additionally, the military camps included operations and intelligence war rooms used by the regime.

The Houthi terrorist regime operates with Iranian guidance and funding to harm Israel and its allies. The regime exploits the maritime space to project force and conduct terror activities against passing and commercial ships in global shipping lanes.

The IDF will act with force against the repeated attacks of the Houthi terrorist regime against the State of Israel and is determined to continue to strike with force at any threat to the citizens of the State of Israel, at any distance required."

Israeli Minister of Defense Israel Katz stated, "We promised more strikes and today we prepared another painful blow to the Houthi terrorist organization in Yemen. The IDF is now attacking military camps manned by Houthi terrorist operatives, including the Houthi propaganda apparatus, in Sana'a and other places throughout Yemen, as part of Operation "Ringing Bells". The long arm of the State of Israel will reach out and strike terror wherever it may be and wherever a threat to our citizens may arise."

Netanyahu on Yemen Strike: "We Will Reach Anyone Who Attacks Us"

Speaking at a cornerstone-laying ceremony for a promenade named after U.S. President Trump in Bat Yam, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu issued a stern warning regarding today's airstrike in Yemen.

The Prime Minister provided new details on the conflict with the Houthis, stating, "A few days ago, we eliminated most members of the Houthis' terror government." He confirmed that the Houthis responded by firing at Ramon Airport two days ago. Netanyahu said this did not deter Israel.

"We struck them again today from the air, at their terror facilities, at terror bases with a great many terrorists, and also at other facilities," he added. "We will continue to strike. Anyone who strikes us, anyone who attacks us, we will reach them."

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sarea denied Israeli claims that its strikes in Yemen targeted missile launch sites, insisting instead that the attacks hit civilian facilities. Among the sites struck, he said, were the offices of the newspapers 26 September and Al-Yemen, resulting in casualties among journalists and civilians.

Sarea reiterated that the Houthis would respond to the Israeli attack.
