Groundbreaking Approach
Israeli Mediator Moran Samun Shines at ICSP Parenting Conference in Lisbon
Israeli attorney Moran Samun makes history as the first Israeli speaker at the ICSP conference, presenting her groundbreaking ADHD-focused mediation model for high-conflict families.

Attorney and family mediator Moran Samun became the first Israeli professional to present at the prestigious International Council on Shared Parenting (ICSP) conference this week, delivering a groundbreaking lecture on managing high-conflict divorces and co-parenting when one or more family members have ADHD.
Held December 8–10, 2025, the ICSP’s 6th International Conference brought together leading psychologists, judges, mediators, and family-law experts from over 40 countries under the theme “Shared Parenting, Social Justice and Children’s Rights.”
Samun, founder and director of the KASHAV Center for Family Crisis Management, was the only Israeli speaker invited to the main program.
In her session titled “Mediation in C.S.C - Connection, Security, Calm”, Samun introduced a practical, neuroscience-informed mediation model specifically designed for families dealing with ADHD, executive-function challenges, sensory issues, and emotional dysregulation.
The model integrates:
Connection: rebuilding trust between parents despite years of conflict
Security: creating predictable routines and clear agreements that reduce anxiety for neurodivergent children
Calm: teaching parents self-regulation techniques before, during, and after mediation sessions
“The classic mediation room can be a nightmare for someone with ADHD or for parents raising a child with ADHD,” Samun explained in her talk. “Impulsivity, time-blindness, rejection sensitivity, and emotional flooding turn even well-meaning discussions into chaos. The KASHAV method flips the script: instead of forcing neurodivergent families into a neurotypical process, we adapt the process to fit the family.”
She added, “Even before I began speaking, I felt the weight of responsibility. I knew I was bringing to the stage not only professional knowledge, but also the human voice of real families. The encounter with professionals from around the world strengthened my understanding that the Israeli approach is truly groundbreaking, especially in connecting law, emotion, and ADHD.”
Attendees praised the presentation as “immediately applicable” and “one of the most practical sessions of the conference.” Several European mediators and judges approached her afterward to explore training and certification in the KASHAV model.
Samun, who has mediated hundreds of complex family cases in Israel, is increasingly recognized internationally for bridging family law and neurodiversity. Her appearance at ICSP follows invitations to speak in the UK, Canada, and at the 2025 European Family Therapy Association conference.
The ICSP board has already extended an invitation for Samon to return as a keynote speaker at the 2027 conference in Washington, D.C.
