Iron Fist in Ilam: IDF Decimates the Infrastructure of Iran’s Brutal Inner Circle | WATCH
The Israeli military has announced the successful destruction of the central headquarters for the Basij and internal security forces in Iran’s Ilam province, targeting the very units responsible for the brutal suppression of civilian protests.

In a significant expansion of "Operation Lion’s Roar," the Israel Defense Forces confirmed on Tuesday that they have successfully neutralized the majority of the central assets belonging to the Basij and internal security forces in western Iran. Focusing specifically on the Ilam province, the air campaign has leveled the physical infrastructure used by the regime to maintain its iron grip over the local population. According to the IDF, the military units stationed in this province were not only responsible for planning external terror operations but were the primary architects of the "cruel suppression" of internal civilian protests during December and January. By destroying these command centers, the coalition is effectively stripping the regime of its ability to enforce its will through violence and intimidation.
Dismantling the Machinery of Suppression
The IDF provided a detailed list of the high-value targets that were eliminated in the latest wave of precision strikes. The list includes the primary headquarters for internal security, the regional offices of the central intelligence ministry, and the IRGC headquarters specifically responsible for the "suppression battalions" used to crush domestic dissent. Additionally, specialized units of the internal security forces and multiple Basij command centers were reduced to rubble. These assets were described by the military as essential tools for "increasing the control and governance of the regime in the province." The removal of these buildings is intended to create a power vacuum that severely limits the Ayatollahs' ability to manage civil unrest.
A History of Violence
The decision to target the Ilam security sector was driven by the dark history of the units stationed there. "These armed forces constitute part of the security mechanisms of the Iranian regime and have been responsible for years for the execution of terror schemes," the IDF stated in a formal announcement. The military emphasized that these specific groups led the central suppression of internal protests, utilizing "severe violence, extensive arrests, and the use of force against civilian demonstrators." In recent months, these units reportedly participated in the slaughter of thousands of Iranian citizens who dared to speak out against the government. By targeting the core of this internal terror apparatus, the IDF aims to "deepen the damage to the core systems of the Iranian terror regime."
The Vacuum of Fear
While the strikes have been devastatingly accurate, Israeli military sources observe that the Iranian public has not yet returned to the streets in mass demonstrations. However, there have been documented instances of celebrations following the liquidation of Ali Khamenei. Intelligence officials believe the regime is currently fighting for its very survival, deploying its remaining assets to universities and protest hotspots to project an aura of control. Yet, there is a growing belief within the defense establishment that the paralysis of these enforcement arms will eventually create a "vacuum of fear," allowing public anger to finally boil over. As one military official noted, "it can break out in minutes," as the dynamics of such historic shifts are often sudden and unpredictable.
