Minister of Settlements and National Missions Orit Strook announced this morning (Sunday) that her daughter, Shoshana, has passed away. The Minister wrote: "Updating with a broken heart on the passing of our beloved daughter Shoshana."

Shoshana Strook was found lifeless in a home in Moshav Amirim, near Safed. Rescue forces who arrived at the scene were forced to pronounce her dead. Shoshana, who lived in both Israel and abroad in recent years, had previously published videos in which she claimed she was the victim of ritual abuse by family members. She had even filed an official complaint against her parents about a year ago.

In response to those claims, the family had previously stated that Shoshana struggled with mental health challenges. A few weeks ago, she posted a fundraising video in which she wrote: "Since the last injury, I left my apartment. Both because I could not stay there another moment mentally, and because I realized I was no longer safe there."

She continued: "Today I am without a home of my own, moving between the houses of kind people who assist me. I do not have the mental capacity to work right now, and I have no family that can help me. Therefore, I turn to you—any support, large or small, will help me get back on my feet and receive the support I need."
