As party lists close ahead of Israel's upcoming elections, National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir is making a strategic push to convert grassroots support within haredi communities into actual votes at the ballot box.
Kikar Hashabat has learned that for the first time in the party's history, Otzma Yehudit (Jewish Power) will include a haredi representative on its Knesset slate: Yossi Goldberger, who has been placed in the ninth position.
Goldberger, 39, is married with four children and has spent recent years serving as an advisor to ministers and Knesset members. In that capacity, he has acted as a liaison between haredi institutional leaders, community representatives, and activists on one side, and Otzma Yehudit ministers and various government authorities on the other.
The move signals a clear attempt by Ben-Gvir to translate the popularity he has gained among segments of the ultra-Orthodox public into concrete electoral support, while establishing a direct foothold within the sector—alongside the traditional haredi parties.
Party chairman Ben-Gvir explained the decision as addressing a need for direct representation, stating: "Yossi is a vigorous man of action, with a big heart, who knows the haredi public well and understands its needs. He has proven over the years that he knows how to open doors, help people, and deliver results."
"I'm happy he's joining our team and confident he will be a faithful and strong representative for the haredi public in the next Knesset," Ben-Gvir added.
