Judea and Samaria: 40 Million NIS were Confiscated from Terrorist Organizations

The campaign against terrorist funds in the Central Command entered into increased action this year, over NIS 40 million was confiscated and dozens of suspects were arrested. The damage to terrorist funds reduces the ability of the organizations to carry out attacks against the citizens of Israel.

As part of the effort of the Central Command against the terrorist organizations, this year the activity to harm the economic level was increased.

As part of the activity, there were arrests of wanted persons, confiscation of money and digital wallets, confiscation of equipment used for terrorism and the closing of major exchange companies. During the past year, the intelligence of the Central Command together with the Shin Bet and other units operated in an extensive intelligence effort to criminalize wanted persons and terrorist funds. As part of the campaign, the IDF forces, the Shin Bet, the Israel Police and the Civil Administration carried out dozens of operations in the Palestinian villages to arrest wanted persons and confiscate funds in order to interrupt the mechanism of the flow of funds used by the terrorist organizations.

The activities against terrorist funds harm the production and trade in weapons, ammunition and cargo and funds used to build terrorist infrastructures and the families that support the terrorist organizations. The activity of the security forces reduces the ability of terrorist organizations to carry out terrorist attacks against the citizens of the region and the State of Israel. The security forces confiscated cash and digital wallets worth over NIS 40 million. The confiscated money was transferred to the security forces for further processing.

6.6 million NIS were confiscated in Binyamin and 350,000 NIS in Jenin

The main activities that took place during the past year are: During a large-scale divisional operation in December, about 40 million NIS were confiscated. Also, during a number of divisional operations in the Binyamin regional division, over 6.6 million NIS were confiscated. In addition, during an operation in Jenin that took place during the past 3rd to 5th of July, about 350,000 NIS were confiscated.

A senior security official explains: "As part of the offensive effort, a broad inter-organizational campaign is underway under the Central Command against the introduction of funds to the terrorist organizations, led by Hamas. The interruption of the flow of funds and the economic damage to the terrorist organizations is extremely significant and directly affects their ability to recruit terrorists and purchase weapons in Judea and Samaria."
