Bnei Brak municipal patrol officers, working with the district police station's patrol unit, arrested 17 illegal residents in a coordinated sweep across the city this week. The suspects were transferred for further investigation and processing.
Israel Police said the operation was part of an ongoing effort to strengthen public security through coordination between the district station, municipal patrol and city inspectors.
"Resident vigilance, alongside a swift and determined response by officers and municipal inspectors, forms a critical layer in the fight against illegal residence and in safeguarding the security of the city's residents," the police statement said.
Israel Police reiterated that employing, transporting or housing illegal residents are criminal offenses that endanger public safety and security.
