A serious fire broke out Monday in a ground-floor home in Hadera's Beit Eliezer neighborhood, at 21 Harimonim Street. Fire and rescue crews from the Hadera station were called to the scene and succeeded in rescuing four dogs and two cages containing parrots.

The incident began after a call came in to the 102 emergency line reporting a fire in the home's yard. The flames spread rapidly to a pergola and from there caught the structure itself. A heavy blaze developed on site and the interior of the home filled with thick black smoke.

Firefighters arrived at the scene within minutes and acted decisively. The teams entered the smoke-filled home to conduct thorough searches for anyone trapped inside. During the firefighting operations, the crews rescued the four dogs and two cages with parrots.

To the relief of the rescue team, the searches confirmed that no one was trapped and there were no human injuries. The crews gained control of the fire, contained the incident, and worked to fully extinguish the remaining hotspots and clear the scene.

Reshef Idan Chaliva, deputy shift commander at Hadera station who commanded the operation, summed up: "This was a ground-floor house fire in Hadera's Beit Eliezer neighborhood. A large amount of contents burned on site, including a pair of electric bicycles and lithium batteries. The fire spread rapidly and caught neighboring structures."

"During the incident we managed to rescue four dogs and two large cages with parrots," Chaliva added. "There were no human injuries in the incident; heavy damage was caused to the structures and adjacent yards."

A fire investigator from Hadera station arrived at the scene and began investigating the circumstances of the fire's outbreak. The incident joins a series of fires that have broken out in recent weeks across the country, some of them following malfunctions in lithium batteries and electrical equipment.
