MK Gilad Kariv of The Democrats called to bring the Palestinian Authority into Gaza, saying "the future of Gaza includes a connection between the Gaza Strip and Judea and Samaria."

Kariv spoke at an event held by Israel Shelanu, an organization of immigrants from Russia. "We need to renew negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians," he said.

At the same time, Israel Resilience Party chairman Gadi Eisenkot addressed his party's main election rally this evening and promised that Hamas will no longer control Gaza "within 18 months" of his taking office.

Eisenkot laid out the first steps a government under his leadership would take upon entering office: "On the government's first day, we will establish a state commission of inquiry. Within a week of its formation, we will establish a national cabinet to fight crime and begin legislating a universal service law."

According to Eisenkot, "within 18 months of my entering office, the Hamas terror organization will no longer control Gaza, no one is more committed to dismantling Hamas than I am."
