BREAKING: Five people stabbed in Dam Square Amsterdam

At least five people are reported injured in a stabbing attack in Amsterdam. A suspect is reportedly in custody.

At least five people have been injured in a stabbing attack a short time ago today (Thursday) in Dam Square in Amsterdam.

According to the Risk Intelligence Group, "multiple people have been injured in a stabbing attack at Sint Nicolaasstraat in central Amsterdam, with a large portion of Dam Square cordoned off by authorities. The incident occurred around 15:20 local time."

Emergency services have reportedly rapidly escalated their response, deploying five ambulances and a trauma helicopter that landed in Dam Square. Police have also established a security perimeter around the scene as medical teams treat the wounded, though the exact number of victims and their conditions remain unclear.
