Operation "Roaring Lion": Israel confirms elimination of Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a strike on his Tehran residence. Iran's Chief of Staff and top military commanders also killed. Iran's official media confirmed last night that Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was eliminated in an Israeli strike on his residence in Tehran and they are threatening a severe blow in response. Trump meanwhile threatens: "We will strike them with a force never seen before." After about two hours of quiet, sirens were activated across the country and an impact was located in an open area.

10:28 — The Ministry of Health updates: Since the start of Operation Roar of the Lion, as of Sunday March 1, 2026 at 8:00 AM, 456 people have been taken to hospitals. Of those, 86 are currently hospitalized or in emergency rooms, including:

- 1 critical (not a direct result of missile impact)

- 19 moderate

- 92 light

- 3 anxiety

- 1 under medical evaluation

10:20 — An explosive drone from Iraq crashed in the heart of Kuwait! Reports of a combined Iranian attack targeting Kuwait's international airport and strategic sites in the country.

10:15 — For the first time in Operation 'Lion's Roar': The IDF is striking targets of the Iranian terror regime in the heart of Tehran. The Israeli Air Force, guided by Military Intelligence, has launched a broad wave of strikes against targets of the Iranian terror regime in central Tehran. Over the past 24 hours, the Air Force carried out extensive operations to establish air superiority and open the path to Tehran.

10:15 — During the latest sirens, a woman in her 60s was rushed to Ichilov Hospital's emergency department suffering from shortness of breath on her way to a shelter. She was evacuated by MDA while CPR was being performed. Despite the team's efforts to save her life, doctors were forced to declare her dead.

10:06 — Operation Lion's Roar: A report was received of missile debris located in the Valleys region. No damage or casualties reported. Israeli police sappers and officers are operating at the scene.

10:06 — Sirens sounding across the greater Tel Aviv area, Modi'in, Samaria, the Shephelah and more.

10:00 — Home Front Command sent advance alerts to many areas across the country to prepare for imminent sirens.

09:55 — Sirens activated in the Jordan Valley area.

09:45 — The Iranian Army claims its Air Force attacked US bases in Gulf states and in the Kurdistan region of Iraq in several stages, threatening that "all enemy military centers in the region will be within reach of our fighter jets."

09:40 — The IDF estimates the Tel Aviv strike involved an intact missile carrying hundreds of kilograms of explosives. According to the Tel Aviv Municipality, 200 residents were evacuated to three hotels. About 40 buildings were damaged, one declared unfit for habitation, 29 with property damage but no structural damage, and 10 with minor damage. The woman killed by the missile was a nursing caregiver.

09:15 — Iranian news agency "Sovereign News" reports that Ahmad Vahidi, Iran's former Interior Minister, has been appointed as the new commander of the Revolutionary Guards.

08:35 — Iranian state broadcasting officially announced the deaths of: Iranian Chief of Staff Abd al-Rahim Mousavi, Revolutionary Guards commander Mohammad Pakpour, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council and Supreme Leader adviser Ali Shamkhani, and Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh.

08:00 — Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, said: "A leadership council will be established to assume the responsibilities of the Supreme Leader until a successor is chosen," following Khamenei's elimination.

07:55 — Israel and the US received the "golden intelligence": Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was meeting with his senior advisers Ali Larijani and Ali Shamkhani — and "Operation Roar of the Lion" was launched. IDF fighter jets dropped 30 bombs on Khamenei's compound. He did not survive.

07:28 — US President Donald Trump warns Iran: "Iran has just announced it will strike hard today, harder than ever before. They had better not do that, because if they do, we will hit them with a force the likes of which has never been seen before!"

07:25 — Since the start of "Operation Lion's Roar," 74 wounded were treated at Ichilov Hospital's emergency department, including 25 injured overnight from the Tel Aviv strike. Most arrived in light condition and were released. 2 remain hospitalized in moderate condition with blast injuries.

07:10 — Defense Minister Israel Katz: "The tyrant Khamenei was eliminated in the opening strike of 'Operation Roar of the Lion,' along with other senior figures in the Iranian terror fortress. He who acted to destroy Israel was destroyed. Justice has been served and the axis of evil has suffered a devastating blow."

- A special transitional leadership council, comprising President Masoud Pezeshkian, Judiciary Chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ejei, and a representative from the Guardian Council, will temporarily assume the Supreme Leader's duties.

- Missile barrages from Iran continued throughout the night; sirens sounded across Israel with no casualties reported thanks to interceptions.

- One woman was killed and dozens wounded from a direct missile hit on a Tel Aviv street.
