Victims Hospitalized, Ages Range from 29 to 84

According to Munson Healthcare, the largest hospital network in northern Michigan, seven victims are currently in fair condition, while four remain in serious condition. Among those wounded was a Walmart employee. The victims range in age from 29 to 84.

The statement went on to commend its medical team, praising their "unwavering commitment and compassion," which it said reflects the resilience of the region's healthcare workers.

The violence erupted when Gille entered the Walmart with a folding knife and began stabbing shoppers at random. Sheriff Shea confirmed the attacker acted alone and was taken into custody within minutes, thanks in part to bystanders who restrained him and assisted victims until emergency services arrived.

A witness, Tiffany DeFell, 36, who was in the parking lot during the attack, told the Associated Press:
