Australia is set to send its former Air Chief Marshall Mark Binskin to independently examine the IDF report on the World Central Kitchen incident, in which the IDF mistakenly attacked a World Central Kitchen convoy, killing seven nationals, including an Australian citizen.

The Australian government made it clear that this step is necessary to ensure full confidence in the IDF's report.

The current Australian government has generally shown itself to be critical of Israel both before and during the war, including rescinding recognition of West Jerusalem as the capital and supporting a cease-fire in February.
