UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke today (Tuesday) on the phone with Jordanian King Abdullah II, where he praised the "deep and historic" connection between the two countries.

The Prime Minister then updated the King regarding Foreign Minister David Lammy's visit to the region and praising Jordan's role in ensuring regional security.

The two leaders then agreed that an immediate ceasefire was vital for ensuring the release of the hostages and the provision of aid to Gazan civilians.

Foreign Minister David Lammy met with President Herzog yesterday, where he said that "I hope that we see a hostage deal emerge in the coming days, and I am using all diplomatic efforts."
