About 3,000 Maccabi Tel Aviv fans arrived to accompany the team, which will face Ajax tonight (Thursday, 22:00), in the group stage of the Europa League. Alongside the colourful and festive atmosphere they provide, they are encountering a particularly hostile environment from Palestinian supporters in Amsterdam, and in the Netherlands, the tension between the sides is making headlines.

Just before the match, 'Tel Haraf' reports that hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters have gathered outside the Johan Cruyff Arena, waiting for Maccabi Tel Aviv fans. According to the report, the local police are taking the threat very seriously and have already arrested at least 20 protesters. Who intended to cause a commotion outside the stadium.

Last night, several violent incidents were reported throughout the city, when a group of Turks (apparently Fenerbahçe fans on their way to a match against Alkmaar) attacked a fan of the yellows because he was Israeli, according to eyewitnesses present at the scene.
