BREAKING: Trump appoints Rubio as Interim National Security Adviser
Following the departure of Mike Waltz, the President has appointed the Secretary of State as the interim National Security Adviser until a permanent replacement can be found.

President Donald Trump announced Secretary of State Rubio today (Thursday) to be his interim National Security Adviser until a permanent replacement can be found for Mike Waltz, who resigned today from the post after three months in the position.
Middle East Envoy Steve Witkoff was considered for the position, but according to an Axios report is uninterested in the position.
Waltz's reasons for leaving were not reported, with some speculating that it was due to his mistaken addition of journalist Jeffrey Goldberg to a classified Signal chat which included details on US strikes against Houthis in Yemen, and others assuming it was due to his hawkishness on Iran and Russia.
