This is a developing story.

Israeli Embassy in Moscow

Public services at the consular section of the Israeli Embassy in Moscow have been temporarily suspended following an overnight fire, officials confirmed Wednesday.

The blaze erupted during the early hours of Wednesday morning and was reportedly triggered by an electrical short circuit within the consular section of the diplomatic compound.

Despite standard protocols governing diplomatic immunity, Russian firefighting units were permitted immediate entry onto the embassy premises to combat the flames. Emergency crews successfully and quickly extinguished the fire.

According to official reports, no casualties were recorded in the incident.

The embassy announced that consular services will remain unavailable to the public for the coming days while necessary restoration and repair work is completed. An investigation into the exact circumstances of the electrical fault is expected.
