Former CIA officer and whistleblower John Kiriakou stated in a February 21, 2026, appearance on the Julian Dorey Podcast that a White House source informed him President Trump has finalized plans for a military attack on Iran, potentially as early as February 23 or 24.

According to Kiriakou, Vice President J.D. Vance and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard are the sole dissenting voices, while Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, and the Joint Chiefs of Staff support the decision.

This unverified claim, based on an anonymous source, comes amid escalating U.S.-Iran tensions following stalled nuclear talks and a massive U.S. military buildup in the Middle East.

The White House has not commented, and no independent confirmation exists.

Kiriakou noted Trump's history of using deadlines tactically, suggesting the strike could preempt the public 10-15 day ultimatum issued on February 19.

The allegation has sparked widespread speculation and market reactions, with oil prices surging amid fears of regional conflict.
