Trump National Security Adviser Mike Waltz to leave post
According to multiple sources speaking to the US media, Waltz and his deputy are leaving their positions. Steve Witkoff will reportedly replace Waltz.

National Security Adviser Mike Waltz is reportedly set to leave his post in favor of Steve Witkoff, according to a CBS report today (Thursday).
Waltz had originally ended up in trouble after accidentally involving journalist Jeffrey Goldberg in a closed Signal chat that discussed critical and classified information about planned air strikes in Yemen against Houthi forces.
At the time, Trump said that Waltz had "learned his lesson," but CBS thinks his current effective dismissal was simply timed for now to make it seem more like a reorganization.
As journalist Andrew Neil notes, Trump had no fewer than four national security advisers in his first term in office.
