Allah Bless America? California’s Move to Grant State Status to Muslim Holidays

Sacramento’s New Creed: Why California’s Push for Muslim State Holidays is More Than Just ‘Inclusion’

While the rest of the Free World grapples with a civilizational struggle against the radicalism emanating from Tehran, the halls of power in Sacramento are focused on a different kind of "march."

California State Assemblyman Matt Haney (D - San Francisco) has officially introduced AB 2017, a bill designed to designate Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha as official state holidays. The move, according to Haney, is about ensuring that the state’s one million Muslims are “seen, valued, and treated with dignity.”

The Players Behind the Bill

The legislation isn't just a solo act by a San Francisco progressive; it is heavily backed by the Council on American-Islamic Relations ( CAIR - CA).

Oussama Mokeddem, CAIR–CA’s Legislative Director, hailed the bill as a "historic moment," framing it as a necessary shield against a "climate of heightened fear and anti-Muslim hostility."

However, for those watching the broader geopolitical landscape, the involvement of CAIR—an organization with a long and storied history of controversy regarding its ties and rhetoric—adds a layer of strategic complexity to what is being marketed as a simple "diversity" initiative.

Analysis: The Multiculturalism Trap

The bill raises a fundamental question about the direction of the American West: Is this a genuine pursuit of "religious parity," or is it another symptom of the "globalist recipe" of cultural retreat?

The Second State to Fold?

If AB 2017 passes, California would become only the second state in the U.S. to formally recognize both major Eid holidays. The bill will move through the Assembly Governmental Organization and Public Employment committees in the coming weeks.

As Sacramento moves to rewrite the calendar, the question remains: Can a state that is so focused on "validating" every community find the resolve to defend the values that allowed that diversity to exist in the first place? Or is this simply the latest step in a "banal secular" attempt to please everyone while standing for nothing.
