What is wrong with people?

The heinous and vicious murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, a devoted husband and father, has resulted in a shocking and blatant indictment of American society. Across social media, individuals have been seen recording themselves live, singing, dancing, and expressing glee at his death.

Charlie Kirk had a loud voice and a bigger megaphone. Many people (left wing Americans) found him abrasive and downright offensive.

That being said, even if you didn't agree with his conservative political opinions, he was a loving husband and devoted father. He was only 31 when he was massacred in front of the world.

Sadly, in a shocking and blatant indictment of American society today, his heinous, vicious murder resulted in something I don't remember seeing to this extent before: Normal (and not so normal) Americans recording themselves live on social media, singing, dancing and expressing their glee at his death.

Now, it's one thing (a horrible thing but) it's one thing if you really thought he was a bad person and you were the teeniest bit relived to hear he was gone. It makes you pretty awful, but still, if you kept your thoughts to yourself, that would be a hell of a lot better than what was done.

The behavior of these people obviously speaks more about them than it does about Charlie.

And what's more worrying is it wasn't one, two, five or a hundred people echoing these sentiments, it was thousands. Don't forget that his wife is now a young widow and his girls will grow up never knowing their father. But because he stood for Judeo-Christian values, was pro-Trump, anti-abortion, pro-Israel and a conservative, that's more than enough of a reason to be a disgraceful evil person (complete with nose rings, of course.)

The widespread public display of celebration at the tragic loss of a life has forced a new and disturbing conversation about the state of American political discourse and the limits of common decency. It really makes me wonder about our world, about the future of America and the Democrats.

I hate 2025.
