Terror in St Kilda: A stolen ute (truck) "hunted" Jewish teens, shouting abuse and trying to run them over. The boys were forced to hide as the vehicle circled back to find them. Police are now chasing the suspects.
In a disturbing antisemitic incident, five Jewish teenage boys, aged 15 to 16, were targeted while walking home from night school in St Kilda East last night (the evening of January 19, 2026).
The attack occurred around 9:50 PM on Glen Eira Road, according to Victoria Police. A stolen white ute (pickup truck) drove past the group, with its occupants shouting antisemitic abuse. The boys attempted to flee by crossing the road, but the vehicle made a U-turn and deliberately drove toward them, nearly striking one of the teens.
The ute then ran a red light and continued to circle the area, apparently searching for the victims. The boys were forced to hide for approximately seven minutes until the immediate threat subsided. The entire ordeal was captured on camera. Fortunately, no one was physically injured in the incident.
However, Jewish community leaders have condemned the attack as an act of terrorism.
Victoria Police are actively investigating and are searching for two teenage suspects observed in the vehicle. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information or footage that could assist in the case.
